Colormxr is based on an entirely new approach to color theory that I’ve developed as a complete color method and practice, based on the methods of RGB+CMY colormixing.
Working from first principles, this is an experiential, hands-on eyes-on learning approach that teaches an intuitive way of working with color — highly approachable for people of all levels, from trained artists and designers to absolute beginners.
Artists and designers learn new methods that complement what they already know about color, while newcomers build a complete, confident foundation in color, from the ground up.
RGB+CMY colormixing is a complete method, not just a way to pick a color. You start with the primary and secondary colors, and how they derive from each other by addition and subtraction — discovering that every color has an exact, calculable complement. From there, tinting and shading reveal the full tonal range within any single hue, and that same technique extends into gradient building, the foundation for creating smooth, continuous color transitions and full color compositions. Each stage builds directly on the one before it, so the relationships you learn early stay visible in everything you go on to create.
